Students of both groups were invited to target a specific Spanish region and then to answer the following question: what is the product that best represents your region?

Educate Girls, Change the World

As part of the Lycée Cultural Center’s 21st Century Global Citizenship Panel Series, a group of Lycée 10th-graders will present a screening of the movie Girl Rising, followed by a Q&A, on Wednesday, January 17 at 6pm. Interested guests can come early at 5pm for an informational forum bringing together NGOs advocating for girls’ education and empowerment. These non-profits include, along with the Girl Rising, ZanaAfrica, Sesame Workshop, The Coding Space and HerStoryCampaign. We invite everyone interested in this important issue to attend, especially students! In anticipation of the event, 10th-grader Esther, who worked with the Cultural Center to organize the event along with her classmates Alix, Axelle and Juliette, shares her thoughts on why educating girls is an urgent international policy priority and what we can do about it.

A Life of Purpose

Building a life of meaning and purpose may seem like an abstract idea—all the more reason for the Lycée to develop opportunities for students to learn from people who have dedicated their lives to the service of others. Just before Thanksgiving, Lycée eleventh and seventh graders were introduced to the work of Tom Nazario, a New York City kid whose footsteps have touched communities around the world.
