Community Events

The success of the Lycée Français de New York’s events and fundraising efforts depends on the hard work and dedication of our parents, alumni, students and staff volunteers. Through their passion for the Lycée, the school enjoys countless successes that continually reinforce its reputation as a respected learning institution and valued community member.

Throughout the year, the Lycée Français de New York holds several fundraising events that help support the mission of the school, fostering the innovations that allow us to achieve our goals. These events include the Gala, the Fall Festival, the Spring Fair and the Skating Party. In addition to raising funds, which support the school, these events help cement our community through shared goals and alliances.

If you are interested in volunteering, please get in touch with our Bureau of Events.

The Gala

Each year, the Lycée Français de New York hosts a spectacular Gala for over 900 guests. The annual Gala is the school’s largest fundraiser and includes a dinner, live and silent auction and student performances. Watch a presentation of the gala:

The 17th annual Gala of the Lycée Français de New York will take place on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the Park Avenue Armory. This year’s Gala entitled “Dream Big - Faites Des Rêves Immenses” will celebrate the importance of our children expressing their dreams and pursuing their passions.

Each year, more than 55 corporations and 900 guests support the Gala, helping to raise $2 million for the school. Proceeds from the Gala go to the LFNY’s scholarship program, as well as our education and cultural initiatives.

Friends of the Lycée Français de New York are invited to participate in the event via corporate sponsorships, ticket purchases, donations for the live and silent auctions, advertising in the Gala program and/or scholarship donations.

The Fall Festival

The Fall Festival is a bazaar-themed event which includes over 40 vendor booths. 20% of all vendor proceeds go directly to the school. This festival offers a great opportunity for new families to meet other Lycée community members. It is also a great chance for attendees to get a head start on holiday shopping, enjoy cultural activities and explore a great selection of French books at our French book fair.

The Spring Fair

The Spring Fair is a fun-filled event highlighting the diversity of the school with booths specific to individual countries, carnival-themed activities and an international food court. The Spring Fair includes international booths, regional foods, carnival games and activities for students. This event brings the Lycée community together in a fun environment to raise funding for scholarship and special school initiatives.

The Skating Party

The Skating Party is one of the most cherished events of the Lycée. Held at Wollman Rink in Central Park, it combines the long-standing and beloved tradition of ice skating in Central Park with the modern amenities Wollman Rink. Skaters enjoy gorgeous views of the park from this revered and historic ice rink, during this Lycée community event which is open to all students, staff, and families.
